Streetwise supporting JT Taylor in running the 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

JT Taylor will be taking the Powertank / Rugged Radio Ultra4 car back down to Mexico to compete in the five day 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000 Race.  JT has participated in this race every year since it was reintroduced in 2010, winning the Ultra4 class in 2016.  “This will be the second year I have driven the entire race myself,” said JT Taylor. “but with the new structure of splitting day 1 into 2 days, it makes it much more doable.” The OG13 King of the Hammers racer was last behind the wheel of his car last year at the Mike’s Peak Hill climb, where he won first in his class and fifth overall. JT Taylor #13 will be running in the Evolution 4×4 Class, where he will drive the entire race himself, switching out co-drivers, Doug Nagy and Terry Madden, during certain legs of the race.  In 2015 JT Taylor was the driver in the #13 Powertank Pioneer Bug where he placed 1st in class.

The 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000 is a five day, five stage race. “This really is the most fun race of the year. The format is a blast and racing with the vintage cars makes it that much cooler. The saying is true, it is the happiest race on earth,” said JT Taylor.  Sunday April 23rd they will start in Ensenada and go to San Felipe.  Day 2 they will continue to Bahia de Los Angeles.  Day 3, April 25th, racing continues to Loreto and on Day 4 it continues down the coast to La Paz with the final Day 5 taking them to the tip of Baja at San Jose del Cabo to the finish celebration. You can follow JT Taylor and co-drivers Doug Nagy and Terry Madden and crew guy extraordinar Javier Martinez on their adventures via Facebook.  Please LIKE the Team page: http://www.facebook.com/RacerJTTaylor

About JT Taylor:  JT Taylor is the epitome of “been there, done that”. A retired First Sergeant who returned from the Iraq conflict with a Bronze Star, Taylor uses the skills that he honed as a soldier to manage multiple racing teams needs. His strategic and mechanical capabilities have served him Crew Chief positions with Brad Lovell, Speed Technologies, Shannon Campbell, Dirt Sports and Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series SuperLite #16 race teams. He was the Crew Chief for Speed Technologies 2008 Class 1 Baja 1000 win, 2009 Baja 500 Torchmate Racing finish, and co-drove and was crew for the 2009 Baja 1000 and the 2010, 2011, 2015 and 2016 NORRA 1000 win. It would be foolish to think that Taylor is only handy with a wrench, he is just as comfortable behind the wheel. JT Taylor is one of the original thirteen competitors of King of the Hammers, winning the 2011 Torchmate Stampede and placing 2nd at the Ultra4 Grand Prix. In 2015, JT became the appointed King of the Hammers Race Director and took the full time position in 2016 as the Race Director for the entire Ultra4 series, making him an invaluable asset to the racing community. Taylor consistently held a top ten position in XORRA for five years and is the two-year reigning champion of the XORRA Germany Series. He is the 3 time Colorado Hill Climb Association Ultra4 Champion and made history as the first Ultra4 competitor to run Pikes Peak, where he won the Exhibition class in 2010 and was 2nd in the Pikes Peak Open Class in 2011.  JT Taylor is the person you want on your team.
